My name is Lynne and I am a small breeder and exhibitor of purebred long-haired guinea pigs based in North Buckinghamshire. I am BCC registered and I am a member of a number of clubs including the Southern Cavy Club. I show under the name of Lodge Hill Cavies.
My guinea pigs are primarily my pets but I do sometimes have babies for sale which are usually from my show stock. I keep principally Shelties and Coronets but also a few Texels and Merinos and a pet Abyssinian.

I only keep a relatively small stud in breeding terms of around 20-25 guinea pigs at any one time, often less. This means that they can all get out in the garden for a daily run and munch on the grass during the warmer months. I keep my sows mainly in a large group pen in the garage where they have plenty of space to run around, except for one or two pairs that are kept separately as group-living simply does not suit them! The boys are kept individually unless running with sows, but they live in large hutches that are divided by wire so they can see each other and therefore still have company and not be alone. If two boys appear to get on well enough, I will try them out on the grass in a pen together which has so far worked well!
